“Effective urban educators are committed to meet the needs of a diverse population.”
There are many obstacles in life that we all want to conquer.
Some people choose to fulfill their bucket list items and live life in that manner.
Many people live life in different ways.
That is truly what diversity is all about.
Being diverse is not simply just your culture, it is a true representation of who one really is.
I am my own unique self and I would definitely consider that being as diverse as it comes.
Kids are going to be kids, this does not matter where they come from, they are still kids.
These children are capable of anything, no matter their culture or background. Education is a powerful and useful tool. We are all teachers and we learn at the same time as well. I am committed to empower these children through their education. We must take a look at ourselves and see who we are and what we believe in. This will be how we make a decision in our lives and the lives of our students. We as teachers need to see where we are educated and the areas we need to improve our knowledge and expertise. We need to look at these children's needs for starters. Teachers need to learn how to deal with different perspectives, so they can visualize the perspectives of different cultures, values, and ways of living. I am interested in how to reach all types of children. It will be my responsibility to make a difference, meet the needs of these students in an urban setting, and to find a way to reach these students mind in a positive learning environment. As a teacher, I believe that it is important to raise these children with a greater awareness of others around them, especially those who are different. Promoting diversity in the classroom is significant to raising these children with the knowledge they need to be a productive member of society. Self reflections would be a great way of promoting diversity in the classroom. Each student is different from their skin color, the way they learn, the way they live at home, to the way they are prepared for diverse encounters in life. It is very important to embrace and value diversity in the classroom.
